Debbie Love

At just under 5 feet tall and 100 lbs., Debbie Love is a petite
4th Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor in Karate who can stop a larger opponent with relative ease. Since she began training in Karate almost two decades ago, Debbie has been the only woman in a room full of men where she learned to tweak techniques to gain an advantage against much larger opponents. Debbie is now bringing this knowledge to others who may find themselves alone in a situation where they may need an advantage too!

Debbie was compelled to learn Karate and self-defense because of a personal family tragedy that had a profound effect and would eventually change the course of her life.

Debbie’s mission is simple: to help women identify and avoid known and unknown predators and to know how to defend when avoidance is not an option.

Debbie Love did not set out to become an instructor or a martial artist for that matter, out of sheer interest,
it was out of necessity.  She was compelled to learn everything she could about the subject because of a personal family tragedy that had a profound effect and would eventually change the course of her life. Her cousin Julie Love, near identical in size and appearance, was the victim of a violent crime in Atlanta in the summer of 1988 which was the subject of headline news. It took over a year for Julie’s remains to be found. Once the facts came out of what happened to Julie, it was clear she lost her life because of one mistake, she ran out of gas. And even
though this occurred in one of Atlanta's wealthiest neighborhoods, it was a fatal mistake. See more of Julie Love's story under the 'Julie Love'  tab.

After learning what happened to Julie, Debbie Love began a quest to learn self-defense but nothing stuck.
She knew there had to be a better way so she enrolled in martial arts to learn from the ground up. That was almost two decades ago.  Now a 4th Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor in Karate, Love is on a mission to educate women that
self-defense is not about being strong, it's about being smart.
